Our goal for the WSFD Youth Fire Academy is to recruit and educate a diverse group of local high school youth about the fire service as a career in a safe, supportive team environment. We're looking for motivated individuals that work well with others, and who are fitness and team-oriented. Candidates must show honesty, integrity, and good character with an interest in serving the public.

The Fire Cadet Program is designed for young men and women between 14 - 20 years old. Cadets work side by side with LAFD members in the station to learn the duties and responsibilities of a firefighter. Following an introductory 5-day orientation program, the Cadet is assigned to a cadet post with a task book.

Individuals seeking a career as a Seattle firefighter can apply to participate in one of the department's cadet programs. There are two separate cadet programs offered, differentiated by age and program goals. This program offers young adults an opportunity to explore a career in the fire service.
If you want to become a firefighter, then you have to undergo training at a fire academy. But before you can do that, you must go through a rigorous application process to see if you will qualify for a career in firefighting. Every fire academy has different requirements, but most will want you to be between the ages of 18 and 45 and to have a high school degree or equivalent.

The Academy offers students the opportunity to learn from instructors already on fire departments, as well as, to receive hands-on training in preparation for becoming a Level One certified firefighter in Colorado. The Red Rocks Firefighter One Academy prepares you for future entrance into the fire service, for volunteer firefighter positions, and for the rigorous testing involved in applying for paid positions with a fire department.
It is the intent of the Fire Authority, in conjunction with the Learning For Life, to offer young adults real life experiences, training, and exposure to the career opportunities available in the fire service. Orange County Fire Authority provides fire suppression, emergency rescue, and fire prevention services. The Fire Authority assists with emergency management coordination for such disasters as earthquakes, hazardous materials coordination, and weed abatement services.
Come Join Our Team The California Cadet Academy is a residential summer camp for high-school aged students who are interested in becoming Firefighters, Police officers and Emergency Medical Technicians. Cadets who attend the Academy are trained in fire science, law enforcement and basic first aid CPR certificate issued.

It is designed for youth between the ages of interested in developing their leadership and teamwork skills.
